Wednesday's Wisdom (8/8/2000)

Pain, sorrow, and fear seem to isolate us...we feel totally alone...bereft of all comfort and companionship. In the time that we most need the help to soothe the storm within we find that we often are looking into a somewhat deep fog. No solace to be found...anxiety is a very real element that seems to rob us of the one thing that we are seeking and searching for...peace! Where can we find peace...well sometimes we seek it in the confiding of the problem to another, or through busy-ness (trying to work it out), or by totally ignoring the issue. All three may have a short-term effect, but sooner or later the problem resurfaces and must again be dealt with. Over and over it seems some of us try "earthly" means to solve the situation. Yet we should know that GOD already knows the problem, has assessed the situation and provision for the solution is at hand...if only asked for. And how many times do we not bother to confide in Front Porch Tales "Fear can keep us up all night long, but faith makes on fine pillow." The other is "God's gonna be up all night...give HIM your burdens." Kinda the same sentiment...basic philosophy...Give it to HIM and be at peace...the solution is better than any you could plan in a life time...perfect for the situation at hand.. and probably the best thing about realizing this is the fact that once we begin turning things over to HIM it becomes a habit. We find the path faster each time until the point is reached where we turn to HIM first...not last. And that is a BIG high five in the heavens...one more saint has learned that prayers ARE the answer...the right & only answer. So when you are "heavy ladened" turn toward home folks...send those problems to the ONE who has the solution just waiting for the prayer to be uttered. I pray that you will find out what the old song says "What a friend we have in Jesus."
